I have created this most basic of Tables, the subject matter can in itself be so huge and never ending that the work I wish to post will take some time to prepare. This however may well be useful for the working of the elements in basic witchcraft practice.
Please fell free to add your own suggestions and ideas as we can all come across little things that make a difference and work!

I thought it prudent to provide an example of how a basic correspondence could work for a spell, so below is a hypothetical..
I thought perhaps a spell of loving attraction would be the easiest to explain.
Affairs of the heart or emotions are ruled by the Water Element. Now Water for myself as a fiery being can be a difficult element to understand so I may wish to introduce some other elemental influences in particularly of the object of my will is under the quarter of a specific element. So here we can see where using symbols or tools from other elements can be introduced to provide balance and harmony.
It depends greatly here how you practice if you are of a ritual mind then creating the sacred space and banishing pentagrams followed by ushering the elements.
If you are less in need of such formality to produce the desired results then simply having the correct tools to hand may suffice.
Further there are some who can simply completed some or all of the above exercises in a visualisation exercise with out the need for paraphernalia, (these are rare).
So lets assume you are ready and have a target for your affections! What tool etc can you select from the above table, here we are essentially dealing with water so the major tool that would be used is that of a cup, chalice, cauldron. These vessels can easily represent the heart.
You can see from the table that rose corresponds as a perfume the flower itself is renowned as a token of love and further as a colour combined with blue would work well. Perhaps the use of corresponding candles would be advantageous. Concentrating the influence of the working in the west would also make perfect sense.
This is a working in its most basic these are merely the tools, correspondences and tokens the ritual and spell themselves are for either another post or of your own making.
